Sweet and Silky Miracle Hair Mask | Homemade Hair Treatment

Hair masks are my favorite weekly regiment. My naturally curly hair needs the moisture regularly, and temperature changes, cold offices, weather, static and just about any environmental factor can make a difference in how my hair behaves.

While I have a few favorite store bought masks, I am open to trying new ones out. Even better, I love the idea of “feeding” my hair with nutrient rich ingredients that won’t weigh it down.

I got creative the other night with a few sweet treats in my fridge and came up with this mask that leaves your hair silky and luxurious. I straightened my hair after the application and the result makes me want to use this every week! See video of the results below.

Sweet and Silky Miracle Hair Homemade Mask

  • 3-4 Tbsp Almond Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Greek Yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp grape seed oil
  • Dime size pinch of raw Shea butter
  • Whisk and bowl

In preparation, shampoo your hair first with a clarifying shampoo, do not condition, and work with damp hair.

Whisk all ingredients together in the bowl. Note: Do not melt the Shea butter before adding it in, simply combine it into the mixture with the whisk.

Start with coating the ends of your hair first, next your scalp and work to meet in the middle, till all of your hair is coated. Wrap your hair into a loose bun and cover with a shower cap for 15-20 minutes.

When finished, rinse your hair out thoroughly and condition as usual. Do not shampoo your hair again. Comb through and style as normal.
